Management Development Pain Points
Management development is on most organisations agenda. They recognise that their success is dependent on their people and in particular their managers and that they need to be constantly nurturing and growing this population. However few are actually able to translate this view into a solid framework for management development, often settling solely on a modular training programme.
Structured Training’s approach is to begin by looking at some of the underlying pain points reflected in the organisation to establish the areas which need to be addressed. In our experience, these are common across most organisations regardless of size, time in business or industry. Take a minute consider how many of the following pain points relate to your management population and whether the development you’ve undertaken has successfully addressed this point?
- Managers are promoted on their technical rather than managerial ability
- Some managers become irrelevant with people working around rather than through them
- Some are great people managers, some really deliver results, but few managers actually do both, consistently
- The management team consists of very little creativity
- Managers are great in the day to day but don’t seem capable of communicating and contributing to the overall vision.
From here we will develop a solution which will help you get at these issues and develop a management population which will really support your business aspirations. Our solutions are based around a range of tried and proven interventions. We will work with you to really get at what you are trying to achieve for your managers and design and deliver a solution which is strategically aligned, stimulating, verifiable and owned by the participants.
